Attention: August 2025 "Podcast Workshops" just added to the class rotation.

MVCC will be bringing back it's original Basic Television production class for the months of August & November 2025.  
 
This will be a month long class, to be held each Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. This class will help you understand the use of MVCC’s field production cameras, basic lighting, audio and editing.
Class is $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents and must have a minim of two students for the class to take place
 
NIGHT 1 - Discuss the rules and guidelines of MVCC access polices, Go over technical terms. Overview of MVCC Field production equipment. Basic audio and lighting examples and discussions. Brief hands on with MVCC equipment.
 
NIGHT 2 - Answer any questions. Basic editing introduction and instructions. Discuss final project ideas.
 
NIGHT 3 - Answer any questions. Shoot and edit final project.
 
NIGHT 4 - Finish shooting and editing final project. Become Field Production certified.

MVCC provides training and equipment necessary for you to become an independent community producer or part of a volunteer video team. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be permitted to use the MVCC equipment facilities for producing programs as well as allocated airtime on our access channels!
Training categories include field camera training, MVCC studio operations, editing, and podcasting. These classes introduce core production concepts, jargon, tips, use, and care of MVCC equipment.

Registrations are accepted with payment only. Residents of MVCC member cities will be given priority. Deadline for all registrations are due on the last Wednesday of the month by 5:00pm. Registration forms and payment may be mailed to MVCC or paid in person during regular business hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fees should be paid by check or exact cash payment. Checks should be made payable to: Miami Valley Communications Council.
