STUDIO

MVCC's Studio is a 45' by 42' acoustically treated production area equipped with 3 Sony High-Definition studio cameras with color viewfinders and teleprompters. The lighting system features a variety of lights. Use the 35’, chroma key green, Pro Cyc curved wall for virtual set productions. The studio is an open space with creative flexibility where we encourage producer’s imagination.

CONTROL

Control A is centered on Newtek’s TriCaster 2 Elite Production System. Comfortable and productive, the room offers the environment to produce shows easily by one or two crew members. The TriCaster features “virtual sets” to make your talent appear in a furnished environment without the cost and complexity of building a real set. The Soundcraft 24 channel audio board lets an operator focus on mixing quality sound. Our training program allows community producers to access the latest tools for creating their vision.

PODCAST

The RODECaster Pro, now located at the podcast center console, has an array of new features available to producers; four microphone, smartphone integration for remote interviews, programmable banks for music and SFX. You will hear the difference, too, as a suite of audio processing tools are built into the system (which MVCC staff have already configured for ease of use). Producers can also bring a micro-SD card for direct recording from the RODECaster, in addition to creating the standard video file.

COMMUNITY EDIT SUITES

MVCC has 5 edit computers available to community users. Equipped with Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Audition. Users have access to the complete DeWolfe music library, and access to Digital Juice graphics and animations. This encourages freedom in your production’s design and style for unique video content. Novice users can request access of the minimalist sister software, Premiere Elements.

EQUIPMENT CHECKOUT

Field gear available to volunteers includes Sony NX-70 and NX-5 HD camcorders, GoPro cameras, LED lighting kits, Manfrotto tripods, Sennheiser wireless lavalier and shotgun mics and Shure hand-held microphones. Advanced users can opt for our Black Magic multi-camera Portable video switcher kit with intercom.

PRODUCTION TRUCK

Our 16’ box truck features a NewTek TriCaster 860, 4 Sony NX5 HD cameras with 7” viewfinders, Vinten tripods, and a Clear-Com intercom system for production crew communications. Live streaming of productions is available from any remote location. City productions, produced by staff, provide opportunities for volunteers to crew plays, parades, sports, and concerts.
The vehicle also functions as a police and fire mobile command post, outfitted with internet, 800MHz radios, lights, and sirens. The generator provides ample power for all the video gear, plus microwave and refrigerator.
