Transitioning from Peer to Supervisor
If you have recently transitioned into a management position or are hoping for that opportunity, it can mark a major accomplishment in your career. You will have new responsibilities, accountabilities, and opportunities to build your professional skills and experience.
With this opportunity comes the need for a new perspective and to approach your job differently. It is no longer business as usual. If you are transitioning from a peer to the leader, the dynamic can be challenging.
In this session will we discuss some of the challenges you may face as well as provide steps for a successful peer to supervisor transition. In this session you will:
- Understand the responsibilities of a supervisor
- Learn steps for a successfully navigating the transition from a peer to supervisor
- Discover ways to effectively managing your former peers
- Discuss how new managers overcome the challenges facing their new role while in leading and effectively build a team with former peers
