Centerville Council members unanimously supported a resolution in support of the merger study proposal at the July 21 council meeting.

Merger Study Commission Finalized |

At the June 16th Centerville City Council meeting, Jane Beach, a Washington Township resident and local attorney announced the names of 12 Centerville and Washington Township residents who agreed to serve on a Merger Study Commission. Digital Photography Workshop and Photography Competition |

The Centerville Arts Commission will be sponsoring a free digital photography workshop on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the Training Room of the Centerville Police Department. Registration is required. Phone the City of Centerville at (937) 433-7151 to register. In October, the Arts Commission will host a Photography Competition. Shakespeare's Macbeth to be performed at Stubbs Park |
|
The Centerville Arts Commission in partnership with Playhouse South, Inc. is pleased to provide four free performances of Macbeth on August 15, 16, 22, and 23. This outdoor production will be held at Stubbs Park Amphitheater, located at 255 W. Spring Valley Road and all performances will begin at 8:00 p.m. Bring your own blankets or chairs for seating. Macbeth is among the best known of William Shakespeare’s plays, as well as his shortest surviving tragedy. With a cast of more than 20 actors, Playhouse South, Inc. will provide a dramatic interpretation that hasn’t been presented at Stubbs Park in many years. Farmers Market in Downtown Centerville Begins July 10th |
|
Pick up farm fresh fruits and vegetables every Thursday July 10-October 30 from 1-6 p.m. The Centerville Farmers Market will be set up in the Cross Point Vineyard Church parking lot at 38 N. Main St. All produce is locally grown or made. Some produce is certified organic. Admission is free and public parking is available.

Police Bike Patrol School For Law Enforcement September 22-26 |
|
The Centerville Police Department presents Police Bike Patrol School (IPMBA) at the Centerville Police Department, 155 W. Spring Valley Road from September 22-26. A challenging five-day training course will test your riding ability and introduce you to a new tool for policing, the fee is $250 per student and is for law enforcement only. Certification by the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) included in the registration fees upon successful completion of the program. Art in the Heart is a summer celebration of art, music, food, and shopping in downtown Centerville sponsored by the Centerville Arts Commission, the Centerville-Washington Foundation and the Heart of Centerville. Art in the Heart will be held on June 28, July 26, August 30 and September 27 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. |

The Centerville Arts Commission announces 2008 Summer Concert Series |
|
The Summer Concert Series brings talented musicians and performers to the Stubbs Park Amphitheater stage all summer long. All concerts are free and the series begins on June 1. In addition to concerts being held almost every Sunday this summer, special concerts are also planned for Wednesday, June 18, Saturday, June 14, Thursday, July 3, and Saturday, August 30. Most concerts begin at 7:00 p.m., except where otherwise noted. Please call the Concert Hotline at 433-7155 for updates and possible weather cancellation information.
