Tell Your Story with MVCC’s New Educational Classes and Workshops
2022’s redesigned courses are a great way to get started as a media producer
If you have a story to tell or ideas to share with the community, now is a great time to become a media producer at the Miami Valley Communications Council (MVCC). Beginning in May, MVCC launches an all-new series of classes and workshops that are perfect for busy schedules and can have you quickly making video to share on access television and social media. Want to create a studio show, record a podcast, or film and event or interview on location? MVCC classes are an excellent way to get started this summer.

MVCC Orientation: (Free) 4th Monday of the month. 6:30pm-8:00pm
Find out about creating video and making a difference in your community with access television. Upon completion, participants will be certified for advanced classes and workshops.
Field Production: ($10/resident, $15/non-resident) 1st Wednesday & Thursday of the month. 6:30pm-8:30pm
Learn the fundamentals of camera composition, videography, audio, and more in this two-day class. Prior completion of the MVCC Orientation is required. Upon completion, participants will be able to check out equipment and record programs.
Studio Production: ($10/resident, $15/non-resident) 3rd Wednesday & Thursday of the month. 6:30pm-8:00pm
Discover how the MVCC studio can create programs with both practical sets and with a green screen using virtual set technology. Prior completion of the MVCC Orientation is required. Upon completion, participants will be able to reserve the studio and record programs.
Editing: (Free) 2nd Wednesday of the month. 6:30pm-8:00pm.
Learn the basics of Adobe Premiere editing. Upon completion, participants will be able to reserve the edit suites for video productions.
The Miami Valley Communications Council operates four cable access channels with cable providers Spectrum TV and AT&T TV.
