| Presenter: Dan Noel, Wright State University Overview: Managing Difficult Conversations is an interactive workshop designed to help equip and empower participants to increase their communication skills and ability to manage conflicts. It is specifically designed for those who interact with the general public and who have a desire to gain the necessary skills for dealing with difficult situations. Participants will learn conflict styles most often expressed by people (including their own), effective communication, active listening skills, and the art of effective negotiation.Goals: Participants will be able to: • Increase their understanding of the communication process and essential communication skills • Articulate various styles of conflict most often expressed by people • Demonstrate common active listening skills to engage with others in a positive manner • Explain the principles of effective negotiation |
