WHAT TO WATCH: The City of Kettering ACTIVE Volunteer Recognition 2009

The City of Kettering and the Miami Valley Communications Council (MVCC) have collaborated to present the program The City of Kettering ACTIVE Volunteer Recognition 2009 for viewers in the Miami Valley, on MVCC Channel 6. The program celebrates thirty years of the ACTIVE Volunteer Program with this event honoring volunteers, held on November 6, 2009. Speakers at the ceremony included Mayor Don Patterson, City Manager Mark Schwieterman, and Volunteer Resources Manager Bonnie Pittl.

The City of Kettering ACTIVE Volunteer Recognition 2009 congratulated dozens of volunteers who have made a difference in their city. Certificates and awards were handed out to volunteers with contributions ranging from 100 hours to 11,500 cumulative hours.

The Kettering ACTIVE (Area Citizens Together in Volunteer Endeavors) Volunteer Program offers citizens an opportunity to become involved in their City by assisting City staff in a variety of jobs and organizing activities that expand City programs, enhance City services, build an understanding of City government and encourage community pride.

This program is viewable online, on-demand at the MVCC web site in addition to its cablecast throughout the year on MVCC Channel 6.
