MVCC Channel 723 to beome Channel 991

The Community Access channel for the Miami Valley Communications Council (MVCC) is moving again. Cable Channel 723 on the Time Warner Cable Inc. digital basic tier will move to Channel 991 in the digital basic tier on August 25th, 2009.

MVCC Community Access Channel CATV723 will go from Channel 723 to Channel 991 for Time Warner Cable Inc. subscribers in the south Dayton viewing area. The other three Miami Valley Communications Council channels remain unaffected: Government Access Channel GATV5, Government Access Channel GATV6, and Educational Access Channel EATV21.

The service area for MVCC Channel 991 will remain the same as when it was Channel 723. It will range from approximately Sidney in the North, to Springfield in the East, Springboro in the South and the Indiana State line in the West.

This channel move is part of a channel reorganizing effort at Time Warner Cable, Inc.

The original channel move was a result of the State of Ohio's Video Service Provider franchising law Senate Bill 117, which took effect in 2008.
