Performance Management is more than just a yearly evaluation - it is ongoing process involving both management and employees.  In this workshop you will learn techniques and strategies to incorporate the annual performance review into ongoing performance management.  You will also learn how to:
Set, communicate and apply consistent standards within and among work groups
Provide constructive feedback and set realistic goals to build your best workforce
Identify and overcome obstacles to effective performance management and evaluations
Address difficult performance issues
Review strategies to keep your high performers engaged
Apply newly learned techniques with your colleagues in the region
Instructors:  With over 30 years combined experience in Human Resources, the City of Kettering HR Management team will guide you through the often dreaded task of evaluating your employees and establishing a more holistic approach to performance management.
Sara E. Mills Klein, Esq. is the Human Resource Director for the City of Kettering and has extensive experience in labor and employment law and human resources.  She is a frequent presenter on a variety of human resource and labor relations issues.  Joining Ms. Mills Klein, are 
Patti Houser, HR Manager, City of Kettering  is responsible for all aspects of the recruitment and selection of City Staff, preparation of salary and benefit surveys and revision and preparation of the Personnel Ordinance, City polices and salary tables.  Patti also serves as a member of the management negotiating team for the City’s Collective Bargaining Agreements
Jenny Smith,  HR Manager, City of Kettering is responsible for Civil Service hiring and promotional processes in the Police and Fire Departments, as well as other City recruitments; Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, Random Drug and Alcohol testing oversight, and reviewing background checks for all potential candidates. She is also a member of the management negotiating team for the City’s six labor unions.  She serves on the Executive Committee of the Safety Committee and is a member of Employee Council.
