Municipal Training Academy


This course is for those who have little experience with computers.  The training is designed to provide basic knowledge and understanding of computers, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and the Internet.  This course is a foundation for further skill development in these areas.  We will focus on the following:
  • Getting Started with Computers Objective: Participants will learn about the computer desktop, the windows environment and how to work with files, folders and programs  
  • Introduction to Microsoft Word Objective: Participants will learn how to use Word 2013 to create and edit simple documents; format documents; 
  • Internet Explorer Objective: Participants will use the different features of internet browsers to browse the web, communicate with other users of the web, and configure security settings to ensure a safety on the Internet.
 Yolanda Yolanda Stephens  Yolanda brings 20 years of experience in human resources, training and organizational development. Yolanda has taught computer application courses at Clark State Community College, Gateway Computer stores, and Sheridan Systems/AM Graphics.  She also teaches soft skills courses in leadership development, generational diversity, strategic planning and more. Yolanda manages and oversees Miami Valley Communications Councils Municipal Training Academy training program supporting over 30 local cities.

Who should attend:

Those who have little experience with computers but want to learn more about the basics of computer use.
