The Miami Valley Communications Council is working with other municipalities and entities to make sure the Miami Valley Region does not lose its networking capabilities after SB 117 takes effect.
Networks are electronic highways. They are like physical highways and airports. They attract business and improve the quality of life in the community. A robust network, or electronic highway, attracts more network connections. This allows for a higher flow of information and resources. It also improves the quality of the digital services provided to both the individual consumer and to businesses. Establishing a local or regional network allows for a higher volume of traffic with less difficulty in accessing the information. Keeping these highways local also means that local government and businesses will still be able to operate in the event of an emergency.
Building this Miami Valley Regional Network (MVRN) is one way MVCC is striving to support our cities and the region.
