As the dew to the blossom,
As the bud to the bee,
As the scent to the rose,
Are those memories to me.

"A Mnemonic Interval" is a thirty minute oral history program that began as a project of the Centerville Historical Commission. When the commission was dissolved, it was continued by the Society. It is produced by Alanjo Productions at the Miami Valley Communications Council. Since 1992, interviewer Janet Thobaben has talked to citizens, old and new, about our community covering subjects such as farming, schools, business, and politics. DVDs are on loan at the Aaron Nutt Cottage. Programs can be seen on Monday at 4:00 pm on Channel 21 and Friday at 7:00 pm. on Channel 23. See Scheduled Events for the latest interview.
"We thought we could do the history of Centerville in ten shows. Then we discovered how many people have stories to share." Aldona Ryan, producer in 1992.
On August 11, 1998, we celebrated our 100th show with an episode featuring the people on the other side of the camera. Producers, directors, cameramen, a graphic artist, and a transcriber were forced to come out from behind their protective "behind the scenes" to tell their side of the tale. Afterwards, a party was held for all of the people involved, including past guests. It was fun reminiscing about the reminiscing.

The delightful tune that you are listening to is part of the theme song to "Mnemonic Interval" entitled "Your Father's Mustache."
