35. Elisha Jones House
Benjamin Wallingsford House

23 S. Main St.

The original stone cottage was built before 1810. It is located along the alley and behind the front two-story section that was built in 1822. This house is an excellent example of Federal architecture. Its stone walls measure 20 inches thick and is one of the best preserved limestone houses having most of the original structure still intact. The house is said to have been the handiwork of Jonathan Munger, an early stonemason of the community. The house has a central hall where the front door and stairway are located and a parlor on either side of the hall. There are three rooms upstairs.  For more information on our stone houses.
