Wright Seaplane Base to host Press Conference |
The Wright Seaplane Base, Inc., is sponsoring a press conference at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19 at the Payne Recreation Center in Moraine. The group aims to introduce the media and citizens of the Miami Valley to a display of items for a look-a-like Model G Aeroboat.
The items include the hull, one half of an upper wing, an outrigger and other items. The items will be on display of the Payne Recreation Center until a full size look-alike Model G Aeroboat can be constructed. Eventually the Wright Seaplane Base hopes to place the model on display in a museum somewhere near the bend of the Miami River.

Janitorial supply company cleans up |
Years before he ever had the notion of owning a janitorial and sanitary supply business, Dave Kling heard a catchy line during a business meeting: “We’re No. 1 in the No. 2 business.”
So when he bought the cleaning and paper supplies distributor, Scottissue Inc. in 1990, Kling slapped the slogan on the company’s vehicles and set about making it true.
He’s come pretty close. Dayton-based Scottissue has grown from $3.1 million in sales in 2004 to $6.7 million last year. Earning only $1.2 million in 1990, the company has strengthened sales through acquisitions and an active online sales presence, said the 78-year-old Kling. Employment has also grown from about 14 in 2004 to 28 today.
