3. Centerville High School

101 W. Franklin St.

Built in 1886, this brick building was the first high school. Stables were located in the rear. In 1924, the school was closed when a centralized school system was instituted and the nine one-room schools and the high school were consolidated and moved into the new Magsig School across the street.

In 1941 the building was converted into a restaurant, The Wishing Well Restaurant.  A raised platform for recitation was turned into a kitchen, and a fireplace on the south wall covered the original doorway and bell tower.  The building has housed various restaurants over the years, the latest being Las Piramides.
