15. Centerville United Methodist Church

63 E. Franklin St.

Trustees for the Methodist church purchasesd land from Aaron Nutt in 1833.  The present brick building is the third on the site, replacing the first stone church (1833-1866) and an earlier brick sanctuary (1866-1924).  Bricks from the 1866 building were salvaged and cleaned by the women of the church, and then used to form the inner walls of the 1924 structure.  In 2001, the new two-story education wing (north) replaced a flat-roofed 1950 addition and the 1924 brick building was joined to the newer stone sanctuary (east) consecrated in 1974.
