A School Day the Old Time Way Go back in time to 1890 to a one-room school in Washington Township. Learn to cipher (do math) on a slate, write with a pen dipped ink, draw what you see in nature, read from a McGuffey Reader, play a game at recess, and eat a snack from a metal lunch pail. |

A Summer Day of Work and Play Spend a morning in the 1890s in Centerville and Washington Township. Do the wash (laundry), make a tin lantern, and make butter and eat it on crackers. When you finish your chores you can take a pretend trip to the Githen's Store for penny candy and then play games. |
