Summer Youth Program
"Experience history firsthand"
Annual summer youth classes give students in grades 3 through 7 an opportunity to explore our unique history and try their hand at skills, trades, and games common in the late 1800s. Classes are small and hands-on. Click here for registration form

A Summer Day of Work and Play |
Students entering grades 3-5 Learn about games children played such as quoits, marbles, jacks and graces. Make a game to take home. $15 per student August 4......... 9 am - 12 pm |

grades 3-5 Find out about the chores children did in the late 1800s like laundry and making butter. Take a pretend trip to Githens Store for penny candy and make a tin lantern to take home. $15 per student August 7......... 9 am - 12 pm |

entering grades 3-5 Imagine sitting in a one-room schoolhouse learning to cipher (do math) on a slate, writing with a pen dipped in ink, reading from an old reader and eating your snack from a metal lunch pail. $15 per student

grades 3-5 You've never been on a scavenger hunt quite like this. Explore two local cemeteries filled with secrets to Centerville's past. Enjoy sketching, taking gravestone rubbings and searching for clues. A snack will be provided $15 per student August 5......... 9 am - 12 pm |
